Exhibitions

I am in the process of meeting with galleries and venues in which to exhibit my Circles series. If you are a gallery owner or have an exhibition space please contact me.

The series is ready to exhibit. They were painted with the same intention as Dante. Dante wrote as an education, as salvation, and to highlight that we all have to live with our choices and consequences . My circles series carries similar messages, that without exhibition cannot be heard. As Keith Harring said “Art lives through the imagination of those who see it. Without contact, there is no Art.”

I have released the first 9 paintings of the Hell series into the world. The second Hell series of 9 paintings are ready to exhibit. The accompanying Heaven set of 9 paintings is almost exhibition ready. In the right environment, the interaction between the two series should be impressive.

This is a fantastic early opportunity for a gallery to be involved in the evolution of the entire Circles series. I am looking for a 33% split on any future sales. For this second series I am looking for £500 for each painting. Feedback suggests a retail price of £750 is realistic. If Heaven and Hell are exhibititted and sold alongside one another this presents a combined potential revenue for a gallery of £4500. The paintings are currently unlisted with any gallery; online or otherwise.

I believe there is a direct line between my earlier work, my interest in signs, recording experiences and use of materials. For more information, please contact me and perhaps explore some of my earlier work at www.spedley.co.uk

The artist Martha Rosler wrote that “Art itself doesn’t create social transformation, but it points towards problems and possible solutions”. This in a sense is what I hope to achieve through my work.
